Beyond presenting Huawei's new AI-powered functionality, we created an amusing and highly polished animated film to engage and entertain audiences in China.
Huawei launched its new flagship smartphone, the Huawei Mate 20 Series by showcasing its new built-in HiVision feature.
We needed to bring this new technology to life and we did by showcasing how, through using AI, the technology can scan and identify the total calories of an object by its shape and type.
For example, consumers can point the camera towards a fruit and the phone will provide details such as the type of fruit and the calories contained.
We created an animated film featuring the story of a groundhog and predatory eagle to entertain whilst showcasing the new functionality of the phone.
In the comical film, an eagle is seen swooping above a flock of groundhogs when it suddenly activates its prey drive and dives down for the kill. One groundhog is unable to escape into its den as it is too big to squeeze into the entrance, so it cleverly uses the phone's new feature to escape the imminent danger.
He activates the HiVision feature on the phone to scan his own body. In the nick of time, he presents the display to the eagle which shows how many calories he is made up of.
The eagle, who tries to stay in shape, is apparently shocked by the high calories and flies away without eating the groundhog. The phone’s function helped the groundhog to survive.
